Were YOU Depressed When You Were A Witness?
by minimus ini've seen soooo many witnesses taking meds or alcohol because of unhappiness and depression.
i know of one woman who regularly gos to her shrink and is the most depressed person that i know of.
personally, i believe it's because a jw can never do enough to satisfy god or the elders....what do you think?

Most of the witnesses are so depressed but they don't even know it. Tell everyone to read the Happiness book. What a laugh, a book that will help you. What I am trying to say, when you start feel your on overload, you are not reading enough your not praying enough, it is always cause by something you did. NO!! it is your organization, The guilty always turn on the innocent. You are up against a brick wall. Talking to them.

by eyes opened ini remmber sister so and so she looked about 100-years-old i felt sorry for her she was at every meeting and everyone was passing her around, cause she always needed a ride to the meeting.
she was one of the 144000, so much for brotherly love.
i had a hard time with that, she could only partake on the memorial good thing she got a ride that day.

the elders, because they were "shepherds and overseers" believed they had the right to talk about you, your family, your job, your personality and so forth.....they pick apart any male in the hall under the guise of seeing whther someone "might qualify for privileges".

Gossip they have nothing better to do than gossip, Look at sister so and so she is wearing this and that brother so and so brought a new car. They have to point the finger on everyone because that makes them feel better. Then when some one new comes in the hall they have to pretend they have love among themselves. What love? They are very noisey also, and try to squeeze you in there slot. They talk about me alot and know for a fact. Because I didn't look like Betty Crocker.

I remmber thinking getting ready for the meeting was another torture, make sure you prepare and feeling if you didn't prepare you didn't respect the food Jehovah provided, for some reason I got tired of eating the same food day after day. And preparing for the food, such as, meeting, service, schools bookstudies studies at home and your own bible students no wonder everyone is depressed, They are running on empty. They are what the watch tower wants them to be. Walking Dead. They are all depressed and sadly enough they don't even realize it.

How could you not be depressed? You watch everything around you fall apart, your family, your self esteem, guilt trips, you can never do enough. Your on overload, You can never feed the beast. You can't talk to anyone to express yourself because second thoughts start to lable you an apostate. So you internalize your feelings, and therefore depression surfaces.
1. guilt trips : caused by never living up to the standards
2. self esteemed: you lost your identity
3. your family: they don't belive the same as you, and if your married to a JW you lose your family as well because you, never have enough time to cover all your bases so your family suffers and your on overload.
Cant talk to Sister or Brother Wood, because they are already, a fossil in the organization, and fossil are stiff and old. No longer thought processes.
